Aside from protein, pre-workouts have to be the most popular and talked about supplement among friends. “Which pre-workout are you taking?” “Have you heard about this new pre-workout?”
To those who don’t regularly take a them, you hear all of the horror stories how people are supposedly being sent to the hospital, or how different brands are in trouble and have lawsuits out… it is scary to try one.
This pre-workout that I am going to review today is from a premier company that creates a lot of great products so let’s get started.
Be sure to check out the end of the article for tips on getting the most out of your pre-workout.
LeCheek Nutrition as a Company
I don’t know too much about the start of LeCheek but I do know that it is a company that has been around 4-5 years. They are located in Northeast Arkansas and they use two of the largest distributors in the industry.
That means they move a lot of product and that is a sign of quality.

Product Review: Hottie by LeCheek Nutrition
If you’ve read any of my other product reviews, you will see I’m not a huge fan of proprietary blends. Prop blends help keep your ingredient dosage hidden from competitors so they can’t steal it but it also keeps amounts hidden from consumers who want to know the amounts.
With that aside, this product is a great little pre-workout. If you haven’t been able to figure out from looking at the packaging, Hottie is designed for women and I think they have done very well with their ingredient selection and dosing.
Mixability
I’ve tried mixing Hottie in cold water and regular tap water and both mixed just fine. There are no clumps or “floaters” and there’s nothing left in the bottom of your shaker.
Hottie is a 10/10 with mixability.
Taste
Hottie’s taste is above average. There’s only one other pre-workout that tastes better. I’ve had 3 flavors, coffee (which tasted a lot like a caramel latte), forbidden apple (think like a jolly rancher), and pink lemonade. All of them taste great but some of my friends that have tried it said they had an aftertaste they didn’t like.
The reality is that the ingredients in a pre-workout are hard to mask which is why they use tart flavors like forbidden apple and pink lemonade to try to mask the ingredient flavors… I feel that LeCheek did a great job.
Overall I give taste a 9/10.
Feeling
If you’ve ever had a pre with a lot of stimulants, you may have had the jitters, the sweats, and a crash after your workout. Hottie is pretty smooth and gives a great amount of energy that isn’t so strong where you crash.
Hottie has a great combination of stimulants and other ingredients that help you go longer and harder in the gym.
Hottie is superb at slowing lactic acid buildup – This means that the bad burn/pump that you get while working out comes on much slower and gives you an ability to get more reps in.
I’ve had a lot of different pre-workouts and I personally like more stimulants but Hottie has a great blend that I cannot talk bad about.
Overall I give feeling 9.5/10.
Overall
I can’t say enough great things about Hottie. I think that LeCheek nailed it for this pre-workout that is designed for females. I think that it’s a great change in the supplement industry and I believe if you try this, you’ll never want to try anything else.
Overall I give Hottie a 9.8/10.
Get the Most out of Your Pre-Workout
If used properly, pre-workouts can help you get to the next level in your workouts by giving you an edge by increasing your energy and your ability to lift more weight.
While none of what I say below would be considered “scientifically correct,” I guarantee you that if you utilize some of these tips that you will get a lot more out of your pre-workout.
- Take 20-30 minutes before working out – I see way too many people taking theirs minutes before they start training and they wonder why it doesn’t work.
- Don’t take on an empty stomach – This is not an absolute statement; me and many others do better training on an empty stomach but it can be harsh when taking supplements on an empty stomach. Try to eat something little 30-45 minutes prior… just don’t have an empty stomach.
- Don’t take after you’ve just eaten – On the flip-side, don’t take a pre just after you ate. It is a recipe for an upset stomach or other issues.
- Stay hydrated – Staying hydrated is important in your overall health but when taking a pre-workout if you aren’t completely hydrated you will not have consistent reactions with the supplement. Sometimes it’ll be great, sometimes it won’t.
Conclusion
I hope that this review helps guide you in your choice of a pre-workout if you are in the market to try one.
I highly advise looking into your individual need for one instead of listening to the popular choice; pre-workouts aren’t for everyone.
